Our INFORM DataLab Journey – from a BI team to an independent Data & AI company.

INFORM GmbH was founded in Aachen as a pioneer in using operations research to optimise complex business processes.

  • Within the Production division, the Business Intelligence department is established, marking the starting point for data-driven decision support.
    The goal is to make data visible and improve decision-making processes across organisations.
  • Data begins to be used strategically. The focus shifts toward data analytics, moving away from pure reporting toward generating real insights.
  • The development of professional data structures enables the reliable and scalable use of company data. The Data Management department is founded.

Establishment of the Data Strategy Competence Area, focusing on building data-driven organisational structures for established companies.

The department becomes independent, and INFORM DataLab is established as a specialised unit for data-driven business consulting.

Following its spin-off from INFORM GmbH, INFORM DataLab is established as an independent subsidiary focused on Data & AI.

Artificial intelligence becomes a core element of the corporate strategy, driving intelligent and automated decision-making. The focus is on applied AI and organisational transformation.
